Be Quiet! has just added a new mid-tower to their portfolio, the Pure Base 600. It comes in two color variants: black (BG021) and silver (BG022) (which only actually has silver rims on the front panel). Both share dimensions of 492 × 220 × 470 mm and a weight of 7.44 kg. They have full metal, window-less side panels and support motherboards ranging in size from Mini-ITX to Full-ATX. The cases are already listed in stores, with prices starting at 2100 CZK or 75 Eur in Germany (though the MSRP is as high as 89 Euros).
Be Quiet! equipped both variants with two external 5.25″ drive bays, three 3.5″ internal bays, and eight 2.5″ positions. This is nice, as far as drive expandability goes, for a case of only medium size, though there are really only two dedicated 2.5″ positions under the motherboard tray; while the rest will most likely require 2.5″ to 3.5″ adapters. As is modern these days, the HDD compartment is positioned at the bottom of the case. The Pure Base 600 has positions for two front 140mm fans, two 140mm/three 120mm top-mounted ones, and a single 120mm rear one. Two fans come preinstalled, a single 140mm front (900 RPM) and 120mm rear (1200 RPM) fan.
The I/O panel carries two USB 3.0 ports and also the audio input/output jacks. There’s also a three-step switch for a fan speed controller. The Pure Base 600 also comes with removable front and bottom dust filters as well as insulation material on the top, front and side panels. Be Quiet! offers a three-year warranty, but that’s usually not much of a concern for computer enclosures.
