SilentiumPC is a Polish brand of computers, cases, cooling and similar products and recently also power supplies. Their new Supremo M1 Gold 550 W is the second model after Supremo M1 Platinum 700W flagship. This unit is made by High Power much like the SilverStone Strider Gold S/Gold V2.0 550 W (SST-ST55F-GS) I recently reviewed. The most obvious difference is the 135mm fan which also makes the unit longer, and only hybrid modular cabling; the Main ATX and ATX 12 V cables are fixed.
So we have an 80 PLUS Gold (@115 V) certified 550W unit. As with the Silverstone unit, this is just a copy-paste of the original High Power Astro gold platform certificate. It is Ecova’s policy but it still looks strange. No wonder more and more manufacturers just do not care about 80 PLUS certification with such service quality (that they pay very high amounts for!) and with that new 80 PLUS @230 V certificates which are just pure madness…
Anyway, back to the SilentiumPC Supremo M1 Gold 550 W. It has a single +12V rail capable of providing 45.9 A or, actually, 550.8 watts ☺ The minor positive rails are derived from +12 V using DC-DC converters and provide 20 A each or 105 W combined. The stand-by supply provides 3 A. This high-end unit claims to have all the protections you can think of, besides basic short and under/over-voltage also over-current, over-power and over-temperature protections. All that with a 5-year warranty just for approx. 2200 CZK in Czech republic, unfortunately it is only available in Europe, at least for now. Without telling too much about the internals before the review itself is published, here is a trailer image ☺
