EVGA has added yet more new power supply models to their already vast portfolio. And these units are yet from another OEM. The BQ series, which formerly included only the 650BQ, 750BQ and 850BQ, (manufactured by HEC/Compucase), has been expanded with new units from Andyson. So far, two models are available: the 500BQ (110-BQ-0500-K1) and 600BQ (110-BQ-0500-K1), rated for 500 W and 600 W at 40 °C. In addition to them, models ranging from 300 W to 450 W have also been certified and may come later. Both models can supply about the full power output from the +12V rail only. This suggests that they use a platform with only one 12V transformer output coupled with DC-DC modules.
The minor positive rails can supply up to 20 A each or 120 W combined. The stand-by supply delivers 2.5 A and the -12V rail 0.3 A, pretty standard figures. Both the old as well as the new BQ series units carry an 80 PLUS Bronze certification. They are semi-modular with the Main ATX and ATX 12 V cables fixed, while the two PCIe and peripheral SATA/molex cables are modular. EVGA states that a 120mm fluid sleeve-bearing fan provides the cooling. Both BQ series units are covered by a 3 year warranty, but there’s no word on pricing yet.
