Ive heard a crap ton of stuff about overclocking, but Ive been interested to know if some people underclock their cpu to save some power on lets say a desktop or laptop. What do you think?

I know for a fact that my dad underclocks his Pentium 4 2.4 to 2.0GHz because it saves power!

I had to do it on a socket A system because it ran at like 80*C under load. Underclocking it helped a bit (and I didn't notice a difference in performance)
