They're usually referred to as UPSes but only the "dual conversion" ones are by the strict definition of the term (SPS stands for "standby power supply"). I ditched that jet-engine I had before to preserve my sanity...but I've had the power drop out twice since. Any model you would recommend??? It doesn't have to be quiet when the power actually drops out, but as long as the power stays on, no noise is allowed.
Information is far more fragile than the HDDs it's stored on. Being an afterthought is no excuse for a bad product.
