Product whitelists

Some product categories just can't be relied upon, be it due to price pressure, simple lack of awareness, or other things.

Whatever the reasons, there are some things I'm no longer willing to buy without verifying the quality beforehand. These include:
  • External HDD enclosures
  • Luminaires
And undoubtedly others. Of course, mention the product categories that you think deserve this treatment.

Also: If there are things besides PC hardware that you're capable of reviewing, why not do so? And while you're at it, can you suggest a suitable drive enclosure (3.5″, SATA, USB 3 ideally but USB 2 OK) that's of decent quality?

PC Power supplies. Way too much over-rated, liar-labelled junk on the market.
