Hey everyone, I thought I'd check out shovenose's new site. My first impression is good.

I actually can think of a suggestion. The links on the board are somewhat obscure. For example, look at your signature. Try to distinguish the color of the link from the rest of the text. You might want to change the color of links (excluding nav links).

how do i do that?

CSS stylesheets. If you're planning to run this forum for very long, better learn some CSS now.

i know HTML/CSS and a small ammout of PHP. but is there any easy way to do it in the admin CP?

Yes. I'm not sure of the layout of the MyBB 1.6 ACP, but it's under themes.

Use easy html editor shovenose. First edit it offline before uploading it.
