As is apparent from the test 4 results table:

Power factor: 0.93%

Great. Now all we need is a 25mm² mains lead to support the immense current draw (105A assuming 230V in) without melting down. :D

And in the disassembly phase:

The 12V rial uses transistors instead of diodes for rectification.
Information is far more fragile than the HDDs it's stored on. Being an afterthought is no excuse for a bad product.

I know this thread is a little old but there are a couple of things I'm wondering about. If anyone can shed some light I'd be very thankful.

At the time of review, this PSU was listed at $AUD94. It's currently listed by MSY at $AUD69, despite the fact that $AU has declined substantially in recent times. The thing that troubles me is that this may indicate a recent substitution of nasty, el-cheapo components that would make this unit an unwise purchase. Has anybody looked at one of these recently?

MSY also have a PSUSH80PGOLD700 550W unit at $59. Seeing as a genuine 550W is more than enough for my requirements, I'd certainly be interested in knowing if anyone has had a look at one of these. I know that lots of things can change from model to model but the price seems about right if the 650W unit is still using the same quality of components as when it was reviewed.

Many thanks for any information.

I think it could not go much worse than Teapo SC. Most likely it is just obsolete stock and they want to get rid of them.

Chinese companies now make similar supplies for laughable money so the competition is tough.
