Although I don’t really know that these units sell for

Care to fix that?

Also, why not add "label doesn't add up" as one of the cons on the Hairong page??? :D

Because it doesn't affect the performance.

...so it’s little wonder I burned the 5V rectifier out by loading it to 250W.

What load did you put on the 5V rail to make it blow??? Just curious if the rectifier met its rating...

I can't remember, as it was almost two years ago. In all likelihood, though, it would have been at least 15A (its rating).

This fan sounds much louder than the one used in the Sun Pro, which is odd since they both have the same part number, but also alarming since the ATX-550W was loud enough, although this is probably why it was able to deliver a bit more power and why the capacitors are still alive.

Actually, that unit also had a bigger transformer (EI-40, whereas the Sun Pro-branded unit had an EI-33) and better ventilation.

On the Hairong page:
Several minutes into Test 4, the power draw suddenly skyrocketed. It hit about 460W (about 68% efficiency) and then and then the unit went kaboom.

I wonder how the Besta achieved 80% efficiency all the way up to 350W given how it's built. I know it was tested at 230V, but even then...
