Hardware Insights specializes in power supplies. In this part of the forum, you will find detailed information on every aspect of power supplies, including how to repair them and how to judge if a power supply is a good quality unit or not.
I know there are lots of bad ones out there (*cough* L&C, Sun pro, Powmax/leadman*cough*) to name a few. What do you think is the worst? Personally I'd say Antec, since I've seen more of them kill boards and components than any other brand and are the only ones I've come across with a 100% premature failure rate.
I think the Antec rep on this forum (if we have one here) won't appreciate this thread. And he will end up stopping sending samples to you for evaluating.
I think it's better to at least get a $300 worthy HCP1200 from Antec before letting them know you hate them.
Please feel free to point out any mistakes in my messages. That will be helpful for me to make less mistakes in the future. Any help will be appreciated.
