:P That thing costs amost as much as a Corsair HX750W. Though HX750 is certainly preferable to the Thoughpower XT 575W. (better design, higher output capacity, longer warranty period and high efficiency. HX750 is based on CWT's DSG Gold design, which squeeze through 80plus gold certification and Corsair down-reted this unit to 80plus silver. TP XT 575W is DSG bronze.) :D

Internals of the SEED ADK-B500 500W power supply. No idea about the real manufacturer. SEED(the company) advertises that this PSU is 80plus certified. And you indeed can find its test report on 80Plus's offical website. But if you read the report carefully, you'll curiously find out that the rated input voltage range of this PSU is 180V-265V. Yet 80plus.org claims that all those tests were done under 115VAC. If the product could past 80plus's tests under 115V, why would the manufacturer want to limit the input voltage to 180V-265V. I really don't see the point of that. o.O

Considering that it has APFC, 115v shouldn't be a problem.

Hmmm. SEED. If I get my hands on one of these, I might just plant it and see if it sprouts. Maybe I will be able to grow my own PSUs :D
No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the coils backwards! :D

There isn't a single good capacitor in it. :(

So I see. It looks like they are all CS. I see them a lot in cheap junk PSUs, usually bloated and leaking.

Innards of the Huntkey WD500 500W power supply. Most of the capacitors on the secondary side are from FCON. One from Teapo and one from Rubycon (in charge of the +5VSB rail filtering).

Those Fcon caps REALLY don't deserve the company of that lone Rubycon
