They are quiet when they are on low (they have manual speed controls). They've probably spent 90% of their life on low. They would probably have failed much sooner if they'd been on high most of the time.

That should be decent performance. H61 boards don't often OC well, so I wouldn't bother with a K CPU edition on that board (unless you plan to upgrade in the future).

i5 2550k is almost the cheapest LGA1155 i5 processor I can get on the market. It cost me about $138. :D

Nice. It's a good option then.

Those Sandy Bridge CPUs are a great deal. I've been considering one myself. Still got a Bloomfield i7 920, but both my home server motherboards have died so I need to get something. Had hoped to wait 'til Haswell.

Anyone want a Brisbane 4400+? Nvidia chipset won't take another reflow. :@

I recently had an identical board come my way, although the chipset was still fine. It just had bad caps (Chemi-con KZG), but I stuck a fan on the chipset heatsink while I was at it, which should make it last longer. If you don't want the CPU, I'll be happy to take it off your hands. You could slip it in with the PSUs. I won't pay for it, though, since I do have a spare one already. They're still good for upgrading cheap compaqs that come with Semprons and Windows Vista.

Heh, no worries mate. I tend to give my old gear away. That's bitten me this time, as I could've used my old Q6600 CPUs to update the home servers. Anyone got a C2Q CPU (or two) preferably Yorkfield (Q8/9xxx) lying around? I'd like to underclock/undervolt for silent running. No probs with recompensing.
