Actually, the label only rates the unit for 29A total on the 12V, so the original 12V rectifiers are enough...barely.

But yes, it falls way short of being good for the 5V rating.

Remove "again" (as it no longer makes sense after the edit)

While not undersized like the other rails, it is just enough.

Make that "the 5V rail" (again due to the edit)

Some of the old reviews have borked links since we switched from MyBB to phpBB... I actually liked MyBB better but I knew how to make a good phpBB skin and not a MyBB skin

FSP overrating their PSUs, and on a 230V input!?? Shame on you, FSP! And a 20A rectifier when a 28A output is touted... I know it's a full-wave rectified output and that it has an 120mm fan but even then... 20 gauge wires and 680uF input capacitors are disappointing, too... what is the bridge rectifier rated at?

...Oh well. It's a half bridge topology, guess I shouldn't be surprised. Shoulda overspec'd more and gone with double forward, and APFC too... but maybe they just rated it at a lower temperature than 40*C/230V...

I don't think it's so much FSP overeating them. I think Rock just took a 400W FSP product and stuck a 500W label on it. I can't remember what the rectifier was rated at. I haven't seen one of these units since I originally published the review.

The capacitors on the secondary are a bit of a let down too, since all of them are made by Teapo.

There's also a CapXon near the +5VSB transformer.

I don't see any sign of an inrush limiter. There's just a wire jumper where it should be. If that is indeed the case, the inrush current could exceed 200A — very high indeed. Unless it's installed somewhere else, but I can't see where.
