The Exterior
The front of the case has matte black plastic for most of the top half and silver mesh for the bottom half. The mesh is a nice touch on this case, as it makes for excellent ventilation. In the way of ports, there are two audio jacks, two USB 2 ports, and a firewire port. This configuration is a little dated by today’s standards; In Win should ditch the firewire and use some USB 3 ports. There are two vents on the left side panel, but fans can’t be installed there. The side panels also have tool-less mounting. To unlock them, you simply pull the ends of the plastic lugs outwards. There are screw holes there too, just in case you don’t want your end user pulling the side panels off so easily.
The back of the case comes with a 92mm fan. The grille uses a brickwork-like structure, and is very open. It’s easily as good as the honeycomb vents used on other cases. The fan supplied is an ARX FD1290-S3033E. It’s speed, airflow and noise ratings are 2100RPM, 37.47CFM, and 28dB respectively. We’ll see if we can hear it later.
There’s not much to comment on regarding the top and bottom, as there are no vents or fans to speak of. The case does feel very solid, and doesn’t flex when picked up, unlike many cheap generic cases.
