First Look
Today’s test subject comes from Infinity, which is another Indonesian brand who are owned by Enlight Indonesia. In fact, it appears that this product even has a page on the Enlight Indonesia website. As we saw recently, though, Enlight Indonesia power supplies aren’t always re-branded Delta units like the Enlights sold elsewhere. Given that this unit sells for the equivalent of around $35 USD, I have my doubts as to whether this one will be much better than last month’s Enlight.
The Box
On the front, we just have the Infinity logo, as well as a few other logos, namely, RoHS, SATA, ATI, and nVidia. Most of the marketing and features are on the back of the box.
- 14cm Fan (That’s a nice touch on a $35 product, especially if it’s an LED fan, like the box makes it out to be)
Fan Speed Control
Ultra quiet and low acoustics
- SATA
Supports SATA/SATAII HDs (I’ll wager it supports SATA III HDDs and SSDs as well)
SATA Power connectors
4-pin Molex connectors
(Easy SWAP connectors) (I’m not sure what that’s supposed to mean. Maybe it has squeezable releases. We’ll find out later)
Floppy Power connectors
- PCI – Express
6-pin PCI-E connectors
Supporting latest NVIDIA & ATI video cards
SLI & CrossFire, Dual GPUs supported
(I assume that all means it has several PCI-E connectors)
- Main Power
Flexible 20+4 pin compliant with INTEL ATX 12V 2.2 Main Power & (4+4)pin + EPS12V Connectors (Nothing too special here. Most half decent products have a 20+4 pin ATX connector and 4+4 pin CPU connector)
- Ventilation
HoneyComb Grill design
Maximized for optimum and airflow (For optimum what and airflow?)
- Silence
Extremely low acoustic noise technology achieves the best balance between noise reduction and essential cooling (That was more or less covered in the first point about the fan)
There is supposed to be a list of connectors, but someone forgot to fill in the blank spaces.
There is no marketing to speak of on the sides, so with that out of the way, let’s open it up
As was the case with the last few lower cost Indonesian products I’ve reviewed of late, there is no foam or bubble wrap in the box – just a thin layer of plastic to protect the power supply. The only accessory provided is a power cable. There is no manual or screws.
The Power Supply
Like the Enlight, The label claims two 12V rails, and has Delta’s UL number. However, this is incorrect. This is a single rail power supply, and it looks nothing like a Delta internally (as we will see later). The power supply is painted matte black, which doesn’t attract fingerprints or dirt.
In the way of connectors, the Infinity has a 20+4 pin ATX connector, a 4+4 pin ATX/EPS12V CPU connector, three molex/peripheral connectors, five SATA power connectors and one 6+2 pin PCI E-Connectors. Considering what the box said about SLi and Crossfire support, I’m surprised that there is only one PCI-E connector. The cables are all sleeved, and the wires are all 18AWG, which is the correct thickness to be used.
The ventilation is perfectly adequate, with a wire grill being used for the fan and a honeycomb grille at the back. This power supply only has Passive PFC, as opposed to more effective Active PFC. Sharp eyed viewers may notice the large PFC coil near the front of the power supply under the fan. Also noteworthy is the fact that the Enlight logo appears on the warranty void sticker.
