Introduction
It’s late at night. You’re nearly done typing a 10 page document which has to be done the next morning for work, and your PC shuts off and refuses to power back on. You then realise that you haven’t saved your document, and you have to kiss your hard work goodbye. Why did the PC shut off, you ask? Dust. It’s one thing that all too many end users never think about, and it can cause some serious headaches if you let it build up.
In this article, we will look at some practical ways to keep the dust away from your PC, as well as what methods of cleaning work best. We will then use our power supply load tester and an old power supply which was destined for the scrap heap to stage a worst case scenario experiment. Finally, we will end with a ‘hall of shame’ – lots of photos of dust-filled PCs which have come our way.
