Be Quiet! Pure Power 9 CM 600 W (L9-CM-600W)

Primary side

The layout is highly familiar, it is indeed same as all the other Raider-based units. The main difference between Aurum and Raider is that Raider only uses cheaper single-sided PCB. The bridge rectifier has its own heatsink and it is the Lite-On GBU1506 (15/200 at 600 V and 100 °C, voltage drop is 1.1 V per diode at 7.5 A). Two transistors in PFC section are Jilin Sino-Microelectronics JCS18N50FH (18/72 A at 500 V and 25 °C, RDS(On) 0.27 Ω at 9 A) in TO-220F package. The diode then is ST Microelectronics STTH8R06FP (8/80 A at 130 °C and 600 V, drop of 2.9 V at 8 A and 25 °C, 1.8 V at 125 °C) in TO-220FPAC package. The PFC coil seems mostly capable enough for such unit.

But the bulk cap charged from the PFC not only is Teapo, but an LH series with 2000 hours at 85 °C. The capacity is 330 μF for 420 V, measures between 283 and 300 μF (two different meters). They could definitely use a better part here. As for the switcher, we have an Infineon SPP11N80C3 (11/33 A at 25 °C and 800 V, RDS(On) 0.45 Ω at 7.1 A and 25 °C, 1.1 Ω at 150 °C). The clamping transistor is then CET-MOS CEF03N8 (3/12 A at 800 V and 25 °C, RDS(On) 4.8 Ω at 1.5 A). Both are in TO-220F package and together with PFC silicon mounted on common primary heatsink.

As usually, there is no information about the driving microcontrollers. FSP uses “6600” microchip, which is a custom 20-pin part driving the PFC, the active clamp forward switchers and the stand-by supply as well. A Taicon 50/100 and Teapo 47/35 capacitors filter its power supply. The main transformer uses 36 mm wide core.

+5 V stand-by rail

The stand-by rail in the L9-CM-600W is basically still the same as in all the other Aurum/Raider units. It uses CET-MOS CEF02N7G (2/8 A at 25 °C and 700 V, RDS(On) 6.75 Ω at 1 A) MOSFET in TO-220F package. The transformer is of 20mm size.

A single DO-packaged Schottky rectifier then rectifies the output, which is filtered by two caps in Pi filter, both Teapo SC 3300/10. I think Be Quiet! could have placed some quality caps at least here.
