Connectors & cabling
The SS-350ET-T3 received an upgrade recently so now it bears 4+4pin ATX 12 V connector (from only single 4pin). There is still no PCIe though. The cabling has no sleeving or gold plating (besides the SATA connectors, most likely) and most of it comes in 18AWG. The Berg only has 22AWG wires, the signal and low-power wires in the Main ATX connector (plus one of the ground conductors too) range from 26AWG to 20AWG.
In total, we have:
- 1× Main ATX (24pin): 35 cm
- 1× ATX 12 V (4+4pin): 35 cm
- 3× SATA: 47 cm, 59 cm, 72 cm
- 2× peripheral molex: 42 cm, 53 cm
- 1× Berg for FDD: 65 cm
Casing & cooling
The metal chassis of the SS-350ET-T3 is constructed from 0.8mm SECC so it is quite sturdy. I am not sure if it actually has any finish (possibly transparent) over the galvanisation, it is possible that Seasonic just skipped it to save some pennies. It should not corrode unless in harsh conditions (sea shores etc.) I guess. Maybe this fact is why the cover seems sturdy as there is more metal instead of paint.
The fact that the fan grill is pretty much just hexagonal holes punched to the upper part of the chassis also helps the structural integrity, though it is somewhat more restrictive for the passing air. There is the usual hexagonal pattern also in the back side, just with smaller openings. These however cover most of the side, including under the input receptacle and switch.
The fan is from Jamicon which seems to be the main supplier to Seasonic in the last few years. It is dual-ball bearing 12cm model KF1225B1H–R with maximum speed of 2200 RPM. With that it reaches airflow of 80.49 CFM, static pressure of 3.58 mm of water column with noise of 38.5 dBA.
