Edubuntu is Ubuntu. The installer even recognizes it as the exact same OS. However, Edubuntu includes some extra useful features for a learning environment (education-ubuntu)

Conclusion:
If you’re setting up Linux in your school, this is worth a shot! Other than that, it’s identical to Ubuntu except for using a DVD instead of CD-R…and needing an extra 2GB+ of disk space.
