In Win/Power Man IP-S300FF1-0 TFX Review

First Look

I have already tested a few In Win power supplies over the last twelve months, and they have proven to be excellent value for money – easily delivering their labelled ratings in spec, while still being offered at very affordable prices. Let’s see if In Win can continue this trend with the IP-S300FF1-0, a TFX Form Factor unit which can be had for as little as $35 AUD (~$32USD).

The IP-S300FF1-0 uses the TFX form factor, which is a common size in slim desktop cases. Like its larger cousins, it is plain grey in colour and lacks sleeved cables. Unlike the label says, this power supply only has one 12V rail, as the controller IC lacks OCP support.

The connectors consist of a 20+4 pin ATX connector, a 4 pin ATX Connector, two SATA connectors, two molex connectors and one FDD power connector. This isn’t a lot of cables, and if you plan on using more than one HDD, then you’ll need to use adaptors. I do think that In Win could have squeezed in one or two extra SATA connectors. The lack of PCI Express connectors probably won’t worry this power supply’s target audience too much. Most cases that require a TFX Power supply also require low profile graphics cards, which are rarely powerful enough to require a PCI-E connector.

The fan grille is punched out, but isn’t too restrictive. The rear grille uses a honeycomb structure, which is also fairly open.
