Connectors & cabling
Both the modular cabling and fixed cabling is sleeved. The wires are black only with colored stripes, which means you can still easily see which is which while they are not so intrusive (when everything else is black). Almost all the wires in the cabling are 18AWG, the only exceptions are wires for small currents (feedback, −12 V, Berg etc.). Though only 3 wires are used for +12 V for both the 6+2pin PCIe connectors on each such cable, five ground wires are used. Whats more, almost all the pins of this units cabling, including molex connectors, are gold plated!! Compared to the Corsair HX750i cabling, this is still way better, and yet the HCG-750M is priced one level below the Corsair unit. On the other hand the molex connectors lack clips for easier unplugging.

We can see the modular cabling board uses flat 5pin connectors for peripherals and then proprietary 16pin connectors for PCIe cabling. Upon closer inspection, you can see each is basically consisting of two almost-like-EPS connectors (the bottom pins are all non-square) next to each other. The provided cabling also only uses these individual 8pin connectors on one side (with 6+2pin PCIe) on the other side. Antec also specifies which +12V rail powers which set of connectors. There is also the switch to turn the fan backlight on or off.
Casing & cooling
The metal chassis of the HCG-750M is made out of 1mm SECC steel, and it has a matte black finish (which is most likely a powder coating). The fan grill looks familiar, doesn’t it – it is the same style Seasonic uses for the S12G family with holes punched directly to the upper part of the chassis. It is cheap though slightly worse for noise. The outgoing fixed cables are protected using plastic bushing.
The backside is also similar, there is the usual hexagonal mesh pattern there, covering most of the back side, even under the inlet and switch. Compare to the Seasonic S12G 550 W we reviewed last year. There is just different sticker here.
The fan is Hong Hua HA13525H12F-Z with maximum rated speed of 2300 RPM. Yep, this is clearly older stock from when Seasonic was still using helicopter-style cooling. Though this fan uses true fluid dynamic bearing, the most advanced type of self-lubricating sleeve bearing.
