Firstly give the AC power to PSU with Power cord . Then measure the voltage of Green Cable at ATX connector (Which is shown in c_hegge's first Picture ) with a Multimeter . Is +5V Present in Green Cable??

Then measure the voltage of Purple Cable not Blue Cable . Is +5V present in Purple cable ??

And can we see the picture inside of your PSU ?

I've got no camera to take a picture with. Sorry. And...

How can I put the 24-pin connector into the motherboard if there's a paperclip blocking the way? o.0

EDIT: Pulled the paperclip out and now the motherboard has a green light but the DVD drive isn't opening so I can't install my operating system.

You don't insert the ATX connector into the board with the paperclip in. If you just insert the paper clip into the ATX connector - without the motherboard connected, the PSU should turn on. If not, then you have a problem.

Well, I tried to open the DVD drive with the motherboard disconnected and the paperclip in, and it worked.

But yeah, how do I get this to work? I mean, isn't power to the motherboard necessary? o.0

Hmm, sorry about the confusion.
What we're trying to do is confirm that the PSU is functional. We're taking the motherboard out of the equation by shorting the power-on connector...

Ahh. So how do I get this computer (intended as a web server) to work?

Well, the PSU should be functional then, at least somewhat, if the disc drive works.
What are the full specs? CPU, RAM, motherboard, etc.
Thanks!

c_hegge calls it "ASDS - Asus Sudden Death Syndrome" sometimes they just die (lousy manufacting)

Oh wow.

Well, I don't think it's dead, because it had the green light on earlier.

But nothing worked when it had that green light on.

December.
