Speed up the wordpress site

Postby Th3_uN1Qu3 » May 10th, 2011, 12:37 pm

Is it just me or does the main wordpress site lag badly when scrolling? I'd like to see something done about that.

Also, fix the banner on the main page (the font scaling is ugly), and remove the ... after "forum" while you're at it. It'll look more professional. :D

What kind of machine/browser are you using? I'm using Chrome on a Win 7 comp with 4 GB of ram, and I have no problems.

I don't have any scrolling problems either (Core 2 E8400@3.6GHz, 4GB, Firefox 4, Windows XP)
No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the coils backwards! :D

E6550 @ 3.61GHz, 8GB, Opera 11.10, Vista 64. Works fine. However it lags on my laptop when it's running on battery (Turion 2GHz, 2GB, Win7 64, Opera 11.10). On battery mode i set the processor to run at 1.4GHz but that isn't an excuse for things to run poorly. Every other hardware site i know works fine like that, this one doesn't.

There's not a hell of a lot I can do about it. I wish I could optimize it, but the theme I use for WordPress is quite heavy and there are lots of images.
What if you use something like Interent Explorer 9? Does it still scroll badly?
