5900RPM Hard Drive?

Yup. it's about about marketing. WD advertises that Green series hard disk drives apply an advance intellipower technology. They just won't tell you the exact rotating speed of their products.
Please feel free to point out any mistakes in my messages. That will be helpful for me to make less mistakes in the future. :-)

Yes. The real rotating speed of the WD caviar green series(as well as RE4-GP and AV-GP) hard disk drives is a mystery.

Weird. I guess that means it changes depending on how active the drive is. That's cool.

Nope. It's fixed rotating speed. If the motor of a hard disk drive adjusts its speed depending on the load, it's gonna consume more power instead of less.

I'd say it's probably 5900rpm, but I could be wrong.
No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the coils backwards! :D

I have 6 Seagate LP2TB5900 RPM hard drive in my ReadyNAS Pro and so far so good. Four of them I bought about a year ago. I bought two, one of the most recent sale Micro center.
