Um...what's with that video card heatsink? is it supposed to be like that?

Nice job fixing the board though!

Yup. The fan failed originally, so I replaced it with that heat sink. It's originally from a Hipro PSU, but works quite well on that card. It's only an FX5200, so it doesn't get that hot.
No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the coils backwards! :D

Lol. What was the original cooling like? Was it one of those really small heatsinks? Because ive got like 3 passively cooled fx5200s, and i can't imagine meeding a fan!

Yeah, it was microscopic and got WAY too hot to touch after a few minutes without a fan.
No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the coils backwards! :D

Well, that card has rubycon so it should be OK.
No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the coils backwards! :D

Hahaha Replaced 4 the other day. Half an hour to replace. Its sooooo easy to do Hahaha and cheap
