That is absolutely horrible! Wow... I know you're on 230V but I expected worse efficiency. I've seen this same exact thing in a Nift power supply, made by L&C

At least the 12V rectifier is a Schottky. :lol:
Information is far more fragile than the HDDs it's stored on. Being an afterthought is no excuse for a bad product.

I don't know for sure, as I never bothered de-soldering or testing the parts (it went straight to the metal recycler after the testing), but it was probably the 12V rectifier. I was pulling close to 20A from it, which is double its rating. With those tiny heat sinks, I wouldn't be surprised at all if it couldn't handle that.
